
Israel’s 37th Government

The 37th government of Israel is the current cabinet of Israel, formed on 29 December 2022 following the Knesset election on 1 November 2022.
The government is headed by the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who serving in the role for the sixth time.
The coalition government consists 64 mandates of six parties:
Likud (32), Shas (11), United Torah Judaism (7) Religious Zionist (7) , Otzma Yehudit (6) , and Noam (1) . (*)
The opposition consists 56 mandates of six parties :Yesh Atid (24), the National Unity Party (12), Yisrael Beiteinu (6) , Ra’am (5) , the Hadash–Ta'al (5) Labor party (4).
*On October 2023 the National Unity Party joined the government and coalition for a limited time.

Prime Minister's Office
The Prime Minister's Office in Israel is the central and leading office in the Israeli government. The office is responsible for implementing the political, economic, social, and administrative vision of the incumbent Prime Minister, and deals with outlining, planning, promoting, and implementing the government's and the Prime Minister's policies on the main issues on the government's agenda.

Ministry of Defense
The Ministry of Defense is responsible for the security of the state at the political, military, and civilian levels. It addresses security issues by building the strength of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), advancing research and development in technological and security fields, encouraging defense exports, and supporting local industries and social involvement. The ministry publishes guidelines for emergency situations and provides services to the public, including rehabilitation of IDF-disabled veterans, memorial projects, support for bereaved families, and assistance to discharged soldiers.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for formulating, implementing, and explaining the foreign policy of the Government of Israel. It works to ensure the national resilience of the State of Israel through the continuous expansion and deepening of its international relations and securing worldwide support for Israel and its positions. The ministry is in charge of planning, managing, and coordinating the activities of over 100 Israeli diplomatic missions worldwide, as well as managing the government's relations with foreign governments and international organizations, both domestically and abroad. The ministry cultivates relationships with Jewish communities in the diaspora and bears the state responsibility for protecting the rights of Israeli citizens abroad.

Ministry of Finance
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for establishing the government's economic policy. Its main functions are: planning and implementing the economic and fiscal policy of the State of Israel, regulating economic and business activities in the economy, determining the state's annual budget for government operations and its distribution among the various government ministries, and managing the state's revenues and the collection of direct and indirect taxes. The ministry is also in charge of the activities of all government companies, setting wage policies and labor agreements in the public sector, and managing state assets. Additionally, the ministry oversees key bodies in the capital market.

Ministry of Justice
The Ministry of Justice works to administer justice and serve the public in the legal field in accordance with government policy while protecting the rule of law, human rights, and the fundamental values of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state where all are equal before the law. Its main functions include: organizing the court systems, religious courts, and the enforcement authority, preparing government legislation drafts, and accompanying private legislation. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is responsible for Israel's energy sectors and natural resources: electricity, fuel, cooking gas, natural gas, energy efficiency, oil exploration, mining, scientific research of the earth and sea, and more. The Ministry of Economy centralizes the tools for encouraging Israel's economic growth. The ministry provides services and information on topics such as import and export, development and investment, foreign trade, regulation and enforcement, domestic trade, and standards. The ministry works to assist in developing and establishing an efficient and profitable industry with competitive capacity, which can be a leading factor in the accelerated growth of the Israeli economy. This includes developing activities for Israel's international economic development, especially tools to increase exports with the aim of securing massive foreign investments in Israel and enhancing the interest and attractiveness of the Israeli economy.
The Ministry of Economy works on expanding economic cooperation and trade with regional countries to maximize the relative advantages of each country. It focuses on human capital development to increase the human infrastructure according to the needs of the industry and the economy. The ministry encourages public consumer awareness and adherence to fair trade rules, ensuring individual welfare and increasing market competitiveness. It also develops extra-budgetary financing tools – making intelligent use of the state budget to create incentives for capital market participation in financing development and industrial projects.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for the development of Israeli agriculture and ensuring its existence and prosperity; the continuity of food supply coming from agricultural production. Food security and ensuring quality, healthy, and safe food for the public, strict supervision of all stages from cultivation in the field to the plate (Farm to Fork); supervision of the prices of dairy products and eggs, economic research in the agricultural sectors, regulation and reduction of the cost of living; encouragement of sustainable agricultural development, protection of trees and a green environment; protection of the welfare of animals (farm and pet animals), development of rural-agricultural settlement in the geographical periphery.

Ministry of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism is responsible for the policy planning, development, and marketing of the tourism industry in Israel, assisting in the establishment of tourism projects and supporting organizations to encourage tourism. The Ministry operates in three main areas: marketing domestic and incoming tourism through support policies, advertising, sales promotion, and public relations including online activities and developing marketing tools, air routes, and existing and new marketing channels.
In public infrastructure development, statutory planning, and encouraging capital investment through an annually published development budget procedure, encouraging capital investments in tourism infrastructure (attractions, small businesses, lodging facilities) through the Capital Investment Encouragement Law, and through support procedures and calls for proposals. And in diversifying, developing, and enhancing the tourist experience – by developing new products and experiences, controlling tourism services, and developing human resources for the tourism industry through training courses, and supporting tourism students, and tour guides.

The Ministry of Communications is responsible for setting the policy, opening the communications market to competition, and developing communication infrastructures. The Ministry is in charge of managing and setting policies in the communication and postal sector in Israel. It is responsible for planning, developing, and regulating communication infrastructures, which promote the use of advanced digital means in employment, education, health, culture, and more, helping Israel to be a leading country in knowledge-intensive industries.
Additionally, the Ministry is involved in licensing and supervision of communication infrastructure owners and service providers, supervision of the Postal Company and Postal Bank, setting control policies and tariffs for various communication services, managing the frequency spectrum, and overseeing cable television services and the approval of end-user devices for the Bezeq system.
